Citizens For Europe are civil society actors supporting themselves to create a participatory and democratic Europe

November, 11 / The G1000 Citizens Summit

Let the people themselves do the talking – not just the people’s representatives. This was the call sent out by a group of independent thinkers and activists. Their proposal: the G1000, a summit of 1,000 randomly selected citizens gathering in Brussels for open and impartial discussions on 11 November.

Following months of research the manifesto’s signatories came up with a concrete model that can provide a new impetus, offering a way out of the impasse in which Belgium has been mired for many years: the G1000, a summit meeting of 1,000 of the country’s citizens, selected at random.
