Democracy International is a non-governmental organization (NGO) based in Cologne, Germany that was formally established in June 2011. Democracy International believes in the power of direct democracy to better the societies in which we live.

Democracy International aims to develop, foster and strengthen direct democracy and citizens’ participation on the local, national, regional, transnational and global level.

• publication of reports and analysis
• consulting democracy organisations and activists and offering support in developing their organisations and campaigns
• raising public awareness on the state of direct democracy procedures and practices worldwide through the Direct Democracy Navigator
