Ukrainian Charity Foundation “The Depths of Art” was established in October 2014 by leading Ukrainian experts in fine arts, music, theater, literature and cultural studies with the goal of building a stronger cultural identity for Ukraine.
The most important cultural and social project that the foundation is implementing right now is the Depths of Art project - a series of multidisciplinary two-week cultural forums held in different cities in geographically opposite regions of Ukraine (Western /Eastern Ukraine, Northern/Southern Ukraine).
The ultimate long-term goal of the project lies in the rapprochement of culturally divided regions of Ukraine through the enhancement of local and interregional cooperation between people and institutions, the popularization of Ukrainian art, cooperation and mutual exchange of cultural initiatives with the EU and neighboring countries. We aim to highlight the value of the cultural diversity of our country that lies in ethnic, linguistic, religious, cultural diversity of its regions. It is the culture that will become a factor of peace, unity, and prosperity in Ukraine, as well as a bridge to the European community.

Methods
Forums but not festivals. It means that every event is discussed after. Sometimes discussion was much longer then event. And it worked changing an aggressive rejection to a desire to study and analyze. Most of events are created in collaboration of arts and participants form different regions (Donbass – Lviv, Galicia – Kharkiv etc.). All forums’ events are free for visitors.
Our experience in organizing forums and artistic residences suggests a great effectiveness of such collaboration for the destruction of mental boundaries and negative stereotypes, as well as the high quality of the final product.
