Abstract of the proposal

We propose that research financed by the public sector be oriented towards the nonmarket sector. In spite of the public debate dedicated to the importance of sustainable development, research linked to it remains marginal. Why? Political decision-makers have chosen to invest their research budgets in «profitable» research areas. Today, we must act urgently to open up these budgets to research on other topics.
