CECOP – CICOPA Europe is the European confederation of cooperatives and other employee-owned enterprises that are active in industry, services and crafts, most of them being worker and social cooperatives.

The main CECOP objectives are the representation in the institutions of the European Union of the interests of producers’ cooperatives and worker ownership and other types of businesses controlled by the workers, promoting economic and social development of these types of businesses across Europe, creating partnerships and networks and the transfer of information and know-how.

Objectives

– promote producers’ and workers’ cooperatives, social cooperatives, and other types of worker-controlled enterprises throughout Europe
– promote worker ownership and the status of worker-member as a third labour modality, alongside employed labour and self-employment
– strengthen and develop member organisations’ activities
– support, encourage and facilitate the exchange of projects and good practises between members
– disseminate European information
– promote cooperation with other cooperative and social economy sectors

– Negociation with trade unions – social dialogue
– Data Collection and Analysis, information and network animation
– Institution building: contact groups and organisations in view of CECOP membership, e.g., Portugal, Ireland, Hungary, West Balkan region, Russia, Turkey etc
– Project implementation and coordination
– Institutional relations
