Gov2u was founded in 2005 as a non-profit, non-governmental organization by a group of professionals from the fields of Legislative Information and Communication Technology (ICT) and community activism.
Gov2u is based on the idea that the new means of communication are essential to improve a new and more inclusive form of direct and participatory democracy
– Promote e-Democracy as an optimal medium for more inclusive and participatory forms of government
– Increase civil society access and input to policy-making procedures,
– Modernize administrative and management processes
– Make legislative bodies and public institutions more efficient, transparent and accountable.
Develop online collaborative platforms equiped with advanced eParticipation tools, designed to offer citizens a greater stake in political discourse, and to openly work together to find sustainable solutions.
The projects carried out to improve a new form and vision of governance: it is only through sophisticated information and communication technology that we will succesfully revive the fundamental principles of democracy and citizenship, and confront the global issues of our time.
