The European Network Addressing Cyberviolence (ENAC) is a project under construction aiming at becoming the umbrella organisation fighting cyberviolence in Europe. ENAC will be a non-profit organisation that will coordinate multi-stakeholder efforts in order to bring greater levels of online safety. It provides literacy, advice and recommendations on cyberviolence in the EU both for policy-makers and citizens.

Objectives

ENAC’s role is to :

* Identify good practices, including examples of systems, models and methods that have proved useful in preventing and addressing cyberviolence;
* Identify formal and informal actors involved in the cyberviolence prevention and become a forum for them to support their cooperation and collaboration in order to achieve effective preventive measures and solutions;
* Be a forum to exchange ideas on practical steps that can be taken in addressing cyberviolence by all stakeholders involved included EU and national governments, industry and citizens;
* Discuss how best to engage with and empower European citizens (victims, perpetrators and bystanders) as well as families in preventing and tackling cyberviolence.
* A forum with all involved stakeholders

Main Activities

ENAC will be a platform of exchange for European governments, industry, representatives of the citizens to gather, exchange data, good practices and decide on practical steps. Thanks to this, ENAC will bring up to governments the most up-to-date data and best practices from all over Europe. ENAC will organise with its members and partners regular meetings on specific topics. Clear recommendations will come out of these meetings, addressed to governements, based on the collected data from the countries. Every year, ENAC will publish an annual report with the updated data and its recommendations.

A contact point for citizens

ENAC will be a contact point for any citizens having a question or a complaint. Thanks to our network, we will be able to support them and/or redirect them towards the appropriate organisation in their country. In addition to this, ENAC will provide with updates on the current legislation in every country, write blog articles, make tutorials and organise informative events in Brussels and in the Member States

Strengths

Such a network focusing on cyberviolence at large (amongst/against children but also women, as well as racism or violence promotion online) does not exist yet. It aims at finding frameworks and good practices and to raise awareness.

Finance and Main Partners

The Digital Leadership Institute is supporting and hosting the association in its offices.
