Modern youth work often works towards creating more offers for young people. With this approach there is not just spent a lot of public money on initiatives that never work. Youth work is also getting part of a capitalistic, consumtion and competicion orientded dynamic that causes a lot of serious problems with young people.
The main goal of our project is to create an environment within the live-worlds of young people where they can discover their potentials and develop empathy as the most important skill for peaceful livin together, for political interest and even for innovative entrepreurship. To realize this project we did not just focus on children and youth but in all people in their live-worlds, in our case four rural municipalities. We think that we need a whole village to get the fire keep on burning, that every children is born with!
