mafianeindanke e.V. is a non-profit association engaged in the prevention of organised crime and corruption based in Germany. With the support of the international antimafia movement, mafianeindanke is fostering the creation of communication channels and international synergies among actors of civil society, politics and institutions, aiming at the formation of a harmonized legislation tackling OC across Europe and beyond. The main goal of the association is to raise awareness about the presence of mafias and organised crime within Germany, and inform about the risks that those phenomena represent for democracy and social justice.

Main Activities

mafianeidanke promotes many initiatives to increase the information available on issues related to organised crime in Germany and Europe, by organising a variety of events to inform the general public as well as youth and institutions; by participating in European and local research projects and reinforcing cooperation networks’ among stakeholders.
Our contact network ranges from activists, journalists, schools and scholars to law enforcement organisations, judges, institutional and political representatives. Since its creation, the association has organized more than 250 events, in Berlin and Germany.

mafianeindanke has a monthly bilingual newsletter with more than 2200 subscribers and spreads the information also through social media.

Finance and Main Partners

The association is mostly organised thanks to voluntary work.

The activities of the organisation are coordinated by a small and energetic group of engaged citizens, who believe that this topic has to be more researched and acknowledged – the team includes a varied group of students, young professionals, teachers, journalists and retired people. Since 2012, the activities of mafianeidanke receive the extremely precious support of young European volunteers, thanks to the European Voluntary Service and now to the European Solidarity Corps.

mafianeindanke has been partner in two European research project (under DG-JUST and ISFP) and will soon start a new project under Erasmus+, KA2 strategic partnership. The association receives also small donations from private people and from the ca. 150 associations’ members.
