AEGEE-Utrecht is one of the antennae of AEGEE-Europe. AEGEE is short for Association des Etats Généraux des Etudiants l'Europe. It is also known in English as European Students’ Forum. AEGEE is one of the largest youth organisations in Europe. The AEGEE network consists of around 13.000 students and young people in over 200 cities in 40 countries. AEGEE-Utrecht has more than 300 members, many members engage in international and local project teams, making it one of the most active antennae in the network. We are a non-governmental, politically independent, non-profit organisation that strives for a democratic, borderless and diverse Europe. We value social, political and economic integration between all countries. Also, we believe the involvement and empowerment of young people is vital to the future of Europe. AEGEE-Europe and its antennae therefore provide volunteers to actively advocate those goals. We are dedicated to promote international mobility and cultural integration, thereby reducing borders and taking away stereotypes, and thus work towards a culturally diverse, open-minded and borderless European community. The activities of AEGEE-Utrecht include the organisation of international events, as well as enabling and encouraging its members to participate in those and other events throughout the continent. Activities organised include: conferences, cultural exchanges, lectures, local meetings, thematic evenings, international trainings, and many more.
